Overview.

Leo is a major side character for my story titled 'Walk of Fate'. A well-known movie director, he's dramatic yet slovenly, there is an air of mystery that surrounds him.

ABOUT.

Leo has a somewhat eccentric character. Although he can often be quite social, he has a somewhat pretentious and showman-like persona. He often appears flamboyant and dramatic. He's a very quick person, constantly jumping between different projects and works. He's sort of a control freak.

Leo is obsessed with film making, he can often be a perfectionist. He's very passionate about what he creates, but just as critical when it comes to other people's works. He is quite tough when it comes to criticizing other films and media, seeing most things as mediocre. To many people, it appears that Leo believes he's better than anyone else. He does have a large ego, but he genuinely does feel that there's merit in his tough comments. His obsessive and eccentric behavior can often come off as quite manic.

Story.

I. CHARACTER STORY.

Leo is a famous film director. He is well regarded, in the story universe, for creating dozens of masterpieces. He's a perfectionist and it's said that any movie that had his hand on it is sure to become a classic. This has caused him to have a lot of fans, and his fans are dedicated, to put it lightly. With his unique personality, although others may enjoy his films they may not really like him as a person. His fans however, do like him as he is and greatly appreciate the way he's so careful when it comes to perfecting his work. All I'm saying is that if the person who is quite literally a borderline lunatic has fans, then those fans are likely as crazy or crazier than he is.

Leo cares about every bit that goes into his films, making sure everything is perfect and to his high standards. As such, he often overworks himself and even the people around him. If you work with him, you either have to smile and nod to everything he says or be just as obsessed as he is. Just as he is critical of other people's works, he's also critical towards himself. This is seen with him overexerting himself, sometimes not even sleeping for a few days. Of course, Leo isn't always working on a movie all the time, so he does have his breathing room. But whenever it is heard that he's got a new project going on, it's sure to be a must-see event.

II. EARLY LIFE.

Leo was born into a rich family that has a history of working with the Oblige. His father was a major envoy, but also the boss of the Anaximander family. Even with how noble the Oblige presents itself, it's clear they're all not that kind. The same went for the Anaximanders. Leo knew this from an early age. Being an only child, his father would teach him about the work within their business. If his father were to die, Leo would be the one to inherit the title of boss. But as much as Leo cared for his father, he never was too interested in becoming the next one in charge. He wanted to try to become his own person. His father would keep a collection of classic old movies that he would then play to Leo. It felt like the closest bonding moments between the two of them, just watching movies together. His father would also take him to watch new releases in theaters. It was these moments that began Leo's newly found fascination in film. He would dream about creating his own movies that could be seen on the big screen, and would often take time to write scripts. Leo's fixation would then become creating perfect films due to his lack of interest in leading the family business. He felt the need to create masterpieces if he wasn't going to dedicate himself to the life he was meant for. He would start working on his first film by the age of 12 and release it at 14 years old. The film's critical acclaim was everything he needed to truly invest into his obsession.

III. PRESENT STORY.

Leo is part of a story I'm currently working on titled 'Walk of Fate'. His role in the story is: An envoy working under The Five’s Branch of Prosperity, well-known as a popular film director.

The basic plot: A bodyguard is hired to protect a famous singer from continuous threats, but there’s one issue: he’s also a hitman hired to eliminate her. A story set in 2006 in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic earth. A primarily slice of life + comedy story with some drama that follows the two main characters, Louis and Mika, as they struggle to cooperate amidst the fate that awaits them. DESIGN NOTES.

A lot of Leo's design was inspired by rose imagery. Roses are often used to represent passion so I don't know, it felt fitting.
Although he does like to look presentable, he prefers to put his attention towards his films and projects rather than focusing too much on his appearance.
For this reason, his clothes are worn in a more relaxed way that is slightly messy. His shirt is worn with the top being largely unbuttoned, having his tie hang lowly. His shirt is also only half tucked in. He also prefers to wear his suit jacket open, since it allows him for more movement.
His dog-tag necklace has the names of his daughters engraved on it wowie so neat (I wish fathers were real).
He uses his leg holster to store his phone, he insists that it's more convenient.
His scarf is more optional to his outfit, I included it to add a bit more red to his design.
He was slightly inspired by Old Hollywood aesthetics.
I feel I say this about every oc atp but he is considered to be very pretty. Like biblical angel (not the freaky kind) type of pretty.

He uses all types of genres for his movies, although he does tend to deviate from trends (kinda becoming a trendsetter on his own tbh).
Each of his films does have his unique style to them. Sometimes you can kinda tell he worked on something without him being the director.
He is meant to be a sort of foil/opposite to Louis. Where Leo loves perfection, Louis despises it. Leo hates bad movies while Louis loves them. Leo is more uptight and Louis is laidback. Leo is an active father and Louis left to get milk-
He despises bad movies. If he could, he would get rid of all of them.
Even if he finds a film terrible, he would never leave a theater/turn it off. He believes it's necessary to watch a film in its entirety before critiquing (bro needs to know everything before he starts hating).
He has two twin daughters named Gloria and Victoria. Although his daughter's names are actual names, they are also the Spanish words for victory and glory (gotta set them up for success right away).
His personality used to be very lazy, but that character type was sort of given to Axel instead. So to distinguish him from other characters, Leo's now just a drama queen. I think a good way to describe him now is to think of a mad scientist but with movies instead.
The idea to make him a movie director was sort of a last minute addition after his new personality, I didn't really know what to do with his character but things worked out I guess.
As mentioned previously, he's a very famous film director in the story universe. His film releases have kinda become a work-free holiday, since workplaces have expected all their employees to not come to work since they'll be watching Leo's new movie instead.
His birthday is on the same day the original Wizard of Oz was released.
It's kinda been impossible for me to find a good voice claim for him. Although I think the vc he has right now fits him, I also imagine him having a slight southern accent on top of his transatlantic accent. Maybe I need to watch some old movies idk.
His fav Sanrio character, because I assign all my characters one (I'm whimsical and joyous), is Tuxedo Sam.
More whimsy, bc I'm a filthy smash player, his mains are Bowser & Roy. He button mashes and somehow it works for him. He's the type of player to keep pressing Bowser's b until it runs out completely. Plays like a sweaty online Roy, kind of spams side b.
My new obssesion is Marvel Rivals so his main is Doctor Strange. Big brain portal plays. Uses the portal to send enemy team off the map, bc it somehow always works. Kind of a dps player playing a tank, complains about not getting heals. Aura walks way too often. Screams at his supports and thinks they're useless but still protects them. Spams hello and thank you ping for some reason. Just put the shield up bro.

Relationships.

KIM 【 girlfriend 】

Leo and Kim have been together for a few years. With both of their families being from The Oblige, they've been close to each other from a young age. They often bonded over their struggles, feeling like they were the only two people who could truly relate to each other. They felt troubled due to their family's legacies, feeling pressured by their responsibilities. But aside from that, they really enjoy each other's company. With their personalities' complimenting the others, the two got together after having feelings for one another for many years. They've grown to understand each other very well, often giving the feeling that they've known each other for a lifetime. They're also the type of couple that is obsessed with one other. They are seriously so sickly sweet. Additionally, they frequently work together professionally. Kim works as a costume designer for Leo's films, whilst Leo also enjoys helping Kim with her own personal fashion designs.

NIKOLAI 【 close friend 】

Leo and Niko basically grew up together. Their families are part of The Oblige, so they're pretty close by proximity. Somehow, they managed to get along with each other and become friends as kids, even with their personalities being polar opposites. Maybe it's due to their bond that Niko tolerates Leo a little more than he does with most people. If they weren't friends, Niko would have probably murdered Leo by now. Niko tends to avoid Leo when he's working on his films because anytime Leo does spot him, he dumps a bunch of work on him and runs off before Niko can say anything. Leo also often asks Niko to look after his daughters, which Niko despises.

GLORIA & VICTORIA 【 daughters 】

(Notice: It's VERY likely they'll get scrapped/removed from the story later on I dunno...) The two are Leo's adopted daughters. Their first encounter was when the two girls were about 9 years old. They were orphans living in a foster home, although they often roamed out on the streets because their caretaker was abusive. Leo decided to take them in after getting quite attached to them. As for now, he spoils both of them endlessly. He's the type of parent that insists his children are angels that can do no wrong (they aren't all that irresponsible but can sometimes cause trouble). He tries his best to always make time for them even when he's busy with his own work.
