About

Irene is a major side character for my story. A girl from a wealthy family, she's shy and anxious. All of my characters come from the same story set in 2006.

Personality

Irene is very fearful and meek. She's a very paranoid person. This is due to her family's shady business, which made her witness a lot of violence growing up. This has resulted in certain behaviors for Irene such as being easily intimidated, breaking down and crying at any slight provocation, and nervously stuttering while speaking. She has a lot of self-esteem issues and her social intuition is very poor. She has a hard time opening up to new people.

Irene's family is very rich so she has lived in wealth all her life. She isn't posh as most rich people are, the trauma sort of denied this, so she doesn't really give the vibe she comes from money. She gives more a girl-next-door vibe instead. To the people she knows, Irene is very kind and sweet. She's seen as very gentle and empathetic, also being quite a generous person. Even with her non-confrontational personality, she can still stand her ground when others are mistreating her. This only happens occasionally, since she prefers not being rude to anyone.

Lore

Irene was born and raised in a wealthy family. However, there were some complications that came with this type of life. The majority of her family's wealth came from their business, which often engaged in dangerous jobs. Despite her parent's efforts to protect her from witnessing this sort of stuff, there would still be times she was exposed to lots of violence and danger. Sometimes, she would even be the one being targeted, but would never get physically hurt during any sort of encounter. This would end up traumatizing her. She would be assigned therapy by her parents, which she still continues to attend. The overall situation with her family's business has calmed down in recent time and her counseling has been of good help, but the effects of her trauma still show through her personality now.

These events have also affected her self-esteem. Irene tends to think very poorly of herself, often seeing herself as a lesser person. Despite her own lack of confidence, she doesn't really like when people think of her as incompetent. It's more so because it's a reminder of her own insecurities, as it confirms to her that other people also think poorly of her. She takes difficulty to pity. Even though it's usually meant to be compassionate, it just reminds her of how useless she feels she is. She also hates being seen as or compared to a child.

Even with her difficult childhood, Irene has always loved and been loved by her parents. She doesn't blame them for the unfortunate things she witnessed, since it was difficult to avoid while it was happening. Even with all they did for her during that time, her parents do feel very guilty for her trauma, especially her father. As time has gone on, Irene's father had become very protective over her, sometimes to an outstanding degree. Trying to build more confidence with herself, Irene has tried to become more independent. However, some of his efforts to protect her tend to interfere with this. For the time being, Irene hasn't had the heart to confront him about this, as she knows her father feels immense guilt that he wasn't able to protect her before.

Irene's family is quite large, but due to their family business they're often too busy to see each other. They only really gather for important occassions or holidays. It's always a big event when they all get together. Irene gets along well with the rest of her family, but she doesn't like how much they baby her. A family member Irene gets to see often is her cousin, Vivienne. Unrelated but Irene's family is known to be on the shorter side.

When the story begins, Irene continues struggling with what she should do with her life. She has been trying efforts to socialize more, although many times she's anxiously stalling and not actually doing much. After meeting Louis, she sees him as a good person that could maybe help her with her struggles.

Irene uses her long hair to hide herself. She also has a habit of touching her hair when nervous

She keeps a journal where she only writes about the positive things around her

She loves going to stationary shops to decorate her journal. Her desk is neatly organized with the cute stationary items she has (she has to many but that's ok)

Even though she's terrified of violence, she loves horror oriented media, especially true crime

She would be very into the FNAF lore

She likes going to IKEA. She usually comes back with a table or something

She has her own library with many books. Most of the books she has are not actually of stories but informational books with lots of graphics and illustrations (like a book about a species of birds)

For the couple amount of books that are more story-based, she enjoys romance novels (so she's a booktok girlie). She also really enjoys shojo manga

She doesn't really seem to be aware of how rich she is sometimes, as she sometimes accidentally shows it off. It's never out of arrogance, she just gets excited when talking so it slips out on accident

She probably said something like 'damn you live like this' once to someone without realizing how it came off

Her flower is the lily of the valley

Her favorite food is apple pie. Her favorite drink is sweet chamomile tea

Her fav Sanrio character, because I assign all my characters one (I'm whimsical and joyous), is Hello Kitty

More whimsy, bc I'm a filthy smash player, her mains are Peach & Pikachu. She doesn’t know how to play and just wants to be a pretty princess. She likes to stand away from the fight, only throwing turnips, so she lives pretty long thoughout games by camping but never actually wins. And she thinks Pikachu is cute.

My new obssesion is Marvel Rivals so her main is Rocket. Plays him bc cute raccoon. Possibly the 0 damage Rocket player. Starts screaming whenever a dps chases her, wolvs and ironfists terrify her. Also plays Jeff bc she thinks he's cute, bought the winter skins for both.
