Overview.

Axel is a major side character for my story. A police officer, he's lazy and overly relaxed. All of my characters come from the same story set in 2006.

ABOUT.

Axel is really lazy and tends to be pretty unenthusiastic towards work. He prefers to sleep on the job and instead send others to do his work for him. Given his position as a chief officer, he has the capability and skills to work effectively. Although perhaps it's this position of power that enables him to take it easy. The officers that work under him believe he's busy with more important stuff, but in reality Axel is just reading magazines or sleeping at his office. Despite all this, he can be serious when necessary. He just doesn't feel the need to put in the effort all the time as he feels it would just be too much trouble.

Axel is very chill and laidback. He's quite sociable so it's pretty easy to have conversations with him. He likes to take walks around the city throughout the day. Not necessarily to patrol, more so just to hang out and have conversations with others. Due to his job, he is good at reading people. As such, he often adjusts his way of communication to better suit the other person's personality, as a way to make them feel more comfortable. Axel is married and has a wife named Charlotte, although he nicknames her Cherry.

DESIGN NOTES.

Axel's design wasn't inspired by anything in particular, just vibes tbh.
He wears a standard police uniform but worn in a more relaxed way. He got a couple of little trinkets on him, idk it's just to make his design more interesting.
One of his eyes is damaged due to a past situation, so he wears an eyepatch. He does have some problems with his vision due to his damaged eye. Regardless, he insits on earing his sunglasses.
The placement of his eyepatch is kinda inconsistent lol. It's meant to be on his right eye, I just drew it wrong on the reference.
He wears his sunglasses all the time, even indoors.
He proudly wears his ring. I wish husbands were real too.
He kinda got that perpetual :] face.

He sometimes gives people a ride in his police car, he much prefers it over work.
A lot of times kids and teenagers ask him for a ride to school. He has a fun time explaining to their parents they weren't actually arrested.
Him and Cherry have been married for 2 years. She works as a 1st grade teacher.
Since he's in a higher position, there's shop owners who respect him so they give him free stuff, which he always thinks is nice.
He has a soft spot towards animals. He would likely have many pets if it weren't for his job.
He likes to visit local adoption centers frequently to play with the pets.
He enjoys taking videos and blogging. Not in a youtuber type way, he likes to do it to save memories for himself. He also does it because he got a camera as a gift once and has been kinda obsessed with it.
He kinda got that chill dad attitude. Bro is just whimsical, I wish men were real.
He kinda got a love-hate relationship with coffee. He likes that it's able to keep him awake but he also dislikes that it keeps him awake...
His fav Sanrio character, because I assign all my characters one (I'm whimsical and joyous), is Gudetama.
More whimsy, bc I'm a filthy smash player, his mains are Villager & Terry. Does not know how to recover and falls off the map often. For that reason, Villager is top tier to him. He also just likes the punchy/shoto characters, and Terry is the easiest for him to understand. He also just thinks his 100% mode is broken. Button mashes to get combos.
My new obssesion is Marvel Rivals so his main is Punisher (most normal Punisher player). Literally chose him bc he's just a guy with a gun and is easy to play. He does often play tanks as well, mostly Magneto. He's employed so he's just ok at the game. Tries to mess around and do cool things, but he ends up dying in the weirdest ways (true punpun player dying like a hamster).

Relationships.

CHERRY [ wife ]

The two have been married for around 2 years. Axel was assigned as the school's SRO, which Cherry also teaches at. Since it was an elementary school, there wasn't much for him to do. He would usually just walk around, sometimes help a kid with their homework. He met Cherry soon after working at the school. With her being a new teacher, he would often offer to help her out. This led them to get closer, thus starting a relationship (although it was a bit slow to not get between their work). After getting promoted, Axel stopped working at the school but his relationship with Cherry continued to develop, leading them to get married some time after.

DAMIEN [ friend :D ]

Due to his fame, Damien often gets followed by crowds in public areas. In this case, Axel was called for a shutdown and to help escort Damien. Upon meeting, he found Damien to be very serious. He attempted to make a few jokes and light talk but it didn't really work that well. From that moment on, they sort of just began having random encounters with each other. Despite their clashing personalities, they've gotten along a bit better. Their dynamic is similar to a dad and his emo son.

LOUIS [ acquaintance ]

With the two of them having easy-going personalities, they get along very well. Whenever they come across each other, they stop and like to chat for a while, stuff like movies or restaurant recommendations. Despite this, Axel's intuition has a slight feeling that there's something off about Louis.

MADDIE [ friend ]

Axel often stops by the cafe she works at, but they actually met when she was still in school. Maddie would often be running late to school, it happened so often she began to ask Axel to take her to school so she could get there on time. Axel didn't mind, plus he had the feeling she needed that extra help.
