The purpose of this blog has recently become for me to use it as an art log, posting a new drawing everyday so I can get rid of my artblock. But it's also just filled with my random thoughts and yaps. There isn't a lot of actual blog entries around here but I might write some soon, possibly about art and writing tips (me in my journalist era). 10/17/2025 Wow a blog entry that isn't a complete week after the previous one, I'm so generous. Crazy how I used to do these every day. So I did realize the video on my last entry was not really working properly, so I'll post screenshots instead. I haven't gotten around to posting that process video on my tiktok, I'll do it this weekend I think. The screenshots show how the more visual novel segments look like and a bit of the map in game. I used the mario the idea vs mario the man copypasta to test the dialogue, maybe I'll use it each time I need to test the text option in events. I also made a couple pixel sprites for some of the other major characters! I kinda hate doing character pixel art, everything is so small and I can't get some details in... But I think these came out cute. They also have little 2017 animation meme head-bopping animations little goobers. I haven't shown these others characters but I didn't really make concept art for them and instead I drew their sprites from the get-go so... I'll introduce them some time trust So I did add that little point and click stuff to the game. It took me an embarassingly long time to implement it bro, but it was just because I was stupid and did not download the correct plugin. But it works now and I think it's pretty cool. I saw that the best way to implement it was a to make a new map with a picture and some events. Right now, I only used the point and click mouse controls for this little menu for Felicia's desk but I also want to use it for a couple minigames. I also made a little fetch quest test. It took me a while to figure things out but it works just as I wanted it to so that's great. For the conditional branch, I made it dependent on an item. I tried to use variables instead but I could not get it to work properly but it's fine I guess. I made a bit of process on the story. I've made it to this phase where I'm reading things over again and re-writing a lot of the lines. Particularly for the first chapter of the story but I lowkey want it to be a banger, or else the story would feel boring. I never make any sort of life updates but nothing really important happens for me to write about lmao. I had a quiz to do yesterday and today, and I was really nervous about both but they were easy as shit. Omg I really hate how every teacher makes the next school year sound so scary like 'high school won't let this pass' or 'college will not be so easy' bro making me worried for nothing. For site stuff, I want to update my existing oc profiles. I'm still not done with the unique profiles I mentioned a while ago, they're really going to take a while. But I want to add some interactive bits to their profiles like with my Chococat and Bucky shrines. I also want to add the photoviewer to their profiles as well maybe. And then there's like 5 ocs with empty lore tabs I really need to fill out too lmao Chat I'm gonna be honest, I've kinda been getting a bit bored with rivals. Maybe it's because I've willingly locked myself in support jail so I should really try out some new dps characters. But sometimes when I play dps or tank it lowkey feels like my healers are buns... Kinda been thinking of trying out a few dive dps, the support to evil dive player pipeline is real. I kinda wanna try bp... I'm really becoming the thing I swore to destroy.
10/12/2025 It's October already what. Erm so my birthday was on the 8th hehe. I wanted to put this video up by that date but I got busy with school work and other stuff. So now here's this video I recorded of a little dialogue test I did. I hope the video player works since it wasn't really working properly on codepen, but I'll also be posting this recording on my tiktok soon. For the acutal content, I like how the bust sprites look in game. I also think the dialogue box came out neat. There's also that frame I added, I think it looks nice? Idk if it's too distracting, but I personally wanted the game to have a sort of border similar to those PC-98 games. Also I need to ask, is there an easier way to place pictures for visual novel dialogue? I'm able to do it in this test but the process is so tedious lmao. I need to give each picture an individual ID, and then I have to place and erase pictures everytime I want a different sprite so they don't overlap. But it's whatever I guess So with me now testing the dialogue parts, I want to test out some variables and switches next. I remember doing them for my previous project but I kinda forgot. I also want to add some point and click segments to this game, just as little minigames. I saw a video for how to do that so I want to try that soon. Anyways, most of the maps are done, aside from some parallax mapping, so I want to record a video showing the map layout soon. I'll be working on the npc overworld sprites next to fill up the remaining parts of the map. Looking back now, I started this project a month ago already. I do hope that the process I've made so far matches the time that has passed lmao. The only thing that continues troubling me is writing the story, I've been feeling writing blocked again. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but to help me get a bit more motivation for my writing, I basically wrote out a whole concept for another game idea... I really don't want to get sidetracked but at least now I'll have something else to work on when this game is done. So daredevil is out now, I kinda want to learn him, but I can't at the moment cuz of the insta-lockers lol. I've been playing invis a bit less tho cuz he's a strong counter to her... But I have been playing invis in doom matches and it has been so fun actually. Most dd players I've met there are really nice but also scary cuz they'll just be stalking me.
09/27/2025 Not a drawing but yooooo first actual screenshot from this game. It’s looking very rough lmao. I do really like how the tilesets look in the game. I have to fix a few of them but fortunately, the majority seem to fit nicely in the game. And all the assets here were made by me! Idk I feel proud about that lol. I’m still sort of struggling to understand the tileset system. The way I have things set up in the screenshot isn’t how that room in the game is actually going to look, I’m just testing how the different assets look in-game. Making the assets has been pretty fun since pixel art is simpler. But I’ve been getting so into making the assets that I want to make more. I really don’t want to get lost in the sauce again, but like offices are cluttered areas so it makes sense for them to have a ton of stuff, right? And I really don’t think too many people will pay attention to the map assets, but I will. Yeah so I’m really trying my best not to overdo it. Big yap incoming, so I also decided not to use the MZ3D plugin. Idk it’s just kinda too complicated for me, maybe for a different future project. I’ve also been browsing through the RPG Maker category on itch.io for some inspo (instead of working, I’m cooked). The way I’ve been seeing devs on there say their games have taken them less than a week to make?? Ts crazy, or it’s a skill diff because I can’t finish that quickly lmao. Right now, I’ve been actually making progress on the script/dialogue for the story. I’m about half done with that, awesome! I could have gotten more writing done, but I lowkey got writing blocked last week. And I also still have to proofread everything. Right now, I want to finish up the rest of the tilesets and the map so when I finish writing the first half of the story, I can actually start on making the game. I also need to make the overworld sprites for the npcs and cgs broooo. A lot of stuff but we’re making it through. Something else I’ve also been thinking about is the game’s visual aesthetic. Obviously since the setting is a corporate office that will be part of it, but I also thought about adding 80s vaporwave into the mix (minus the statues and random Japanese words lmao). Maybe it’s because I see a lot of citypop images when I look for retro office inspo on pinterest but I feel it really fits. I also really like games that have a prominent aesthetic. I remember the vaporwave aesthetic being very big in the late 2010s but it’s still pretty cool imo. I tried to add a sort of fuzzy purplish filter to the game, I’m not sure if it’s too distracting. The filter does look pretty bad in the screenshot cuz of the compression but it appears a bit more nicely in the game, I'll still work on it a bit more. I also thought about making the cgs look like old video tapes. And if I have the time to, I can make the music and sound effects sound bit-crushed/low-quality for some extra vibes. I’m also starting school really soon… I got my mantis skin yipee! I also won an honorable mention from the contest I mentioned last entry so I won a summer invis skin from that! I'm really super grateful for that, her new skin is so pretty. The new map is also really pretty. It's so nice especially after all the venom maps. I like playing on it but I'm really confused about where everything is lmao. The other day I also remembered the new arcade section they added with the different game modes. I played a bit of those and they were really fun, the games I played were not that sweaty which I liked.
09/15/2025 These blog posts are getting rarer but I've been busy. omg yall mantis looks so pretty, i wish bugs were real. I wanted to draw her summer skin but this is also for a contest I saw on twitter. Ngl I'm lowkey kinda terrified of posting on twitter but I sorta have to for this contest 💔. I drew a background waow but I struggled a bit with the water lol. I also wanted this drawing to have a sort of vhs effect, it's kinda giving dead wife montage. For that one project, things have been going well. Everything is taking longer than expected, I already gave up on that game jam deadline lmao. I'm pretty much halfway done with the story writing/dialogue part and I've done a good amount of the tileset and pixel assets. I think I have enough by now to import and test them out in MZ. Once I have this done I'll start on developing the game. I don't think the development would be too difficult since I'm already familiar with creating events and variables, it'll prob just be really long and tedious. Erm I've just been playing. I haven't played Angela but lowkey I don't really want to, she's not for me. She feels kinda weak but I've heard people say she's fun to play, so I guess there's that. The new summer skins looks really nice. Sue's skin bro I might have to spend. But they literally showed every skin but Mantis' they're gatekeeping her let her out. Pretty much confirmed she's going to be part of the summer pass, I'm hoping her skin is a legendary with pretty recolors and effects. Anyways why have the practice doom matches felt so aggressive recently? I don't mind fighting people sometimes bc it can get boring otherwise but some people on there are weird weird. Random people will literally be so obssesed trying to fight and diff me like do I know you? matchmaking still buns
09/06/2025 The new blog page is up, yipee! This is my blog version 2, since my other older blog page will still be up. But it won't be the direct link on the index page, this new blog page will replace that and the older blog will now only be accessible through the other section on the sidebar. Hope that's not too confusing lmao, but the reason I'm not transferring all previous entries is because it would take so long and it would just be tedious. I've only brought in the most recent entries here to fill this page up a bit. I think this new page looks really cool, I prefer it over the old blog page. I added those entry sectinons I mentioned previously so that the blog section doesn't get too long. I was inspired by sugarfantasies blog page for this section! I also really like the little random figures that display on the right side of the page everytime you refresh. I got that code here, so now I can display my fav bishoujo figures that I cannot afford lol. There's also that view image feature I added. The drawings do appear a bit blurry when zoomed in, but it's fine and much better than just adding the drawing in. I've made nearly all the dialogue sprites for that new project. This thing doesn't have a name yet either, but I finally thought up some proper names for the two main characters. The protagonist's name is Felicia Rios and I decided to name the detective Vincent Baxter (unfortunately he won't be called Freddy Fazbear). Both of them will have 4 unique sprites, with different expressions for each, so here is one from each. I think they look aight. I'm still writing the script/dialogue for the game, but it's kinda been a weird process. I already know how I want the story to go, I've written the outline for that so it's not like I'm having trouble writing the rest because I don't have any ideas. Idk but it's just been kinda tricky writing the actual dialogue. Sometimes I get some inspo and think of little bits of dialogue, which I then write on my notes app lmao, but writing from start to finish is a bit more difficult for me. Maybe I should just try to plan out the dialogue for certain scenes and put the parts together from there, and then fill out the remaining blanks. I guess that would work best. I like writing but then I don't actually like writing lmao. I have yet to make any of the map assets and I also have not tested the MZ3D plugin, so actual game process is at a 0%. I've thought that if I can't finish this before the visual novel jam ends, I'll just have to submit it solo or maybe a different gamejam. Either way, I still have plans to finish this before this year ends so that's good. Big new rivals update blast. The new update isn't out yet, but everything that has been shown around it looks really cool. Angela looks like a really cool new character but my brain is not built for flying characters. So I might pass on her and continue using Emma as my main tank. Anyways, the timing for this is crazy cause have you seen the new Mantis skin???? I was literally thinking how much I would like for her to get a summer skin and she is now, and it looks so cute! I like how it references her first comic appearance. I hope it's part of the summer pass so I have a reason to buy that. And the invis summer skin too?? I just got her first steps skin but this one is also so pretty, I'm going broke for them. And thing is getting a new skin again, greedy ahh rock. I wanna make those nameplate stamps again, I don't think anybody uses them but making them makes me happy
09/01/2025 Wake up it's the first of the month I made their sprites, they are looking mega blurry here. I don’t really do pixel art, I’ve only tried it a few times and my attempts have been alright. I think it looks nice but I don’t know how good it actually is in terms of pixel art standards lol. I still need to do the rest of the sprite sheet for Felicia as well. These sprites are kinda big, each one is 80x170 (and I think the RPG Maker sprites are 42x42 or something). Not sure how much that will affect the rest of the game, if anything I’ll probably just have to scale up the rest of the map assets. This whole section is just a ramble. I’ve also thought about making the game 2.5d. I originally thought of making it a simple top-down game but idk I just like the 3d look better. I’m gonna need to test out the demo for that soon cuz the plugin costs money and I’m unemployed. I don’t think the rest of the map assets will take too long to make, since there aren’t many map locations planned. I made a very, very rough sketch of the map layout but I should probably make it more detailed for when I’m actually working on the assets. But for right now, I’m working on the dialogue sprites since there aren’t too many of those. My plan for this week is to finish all of those. I also have the story outline done, although I want to write out the story beats before I get to the dialogue script. Maybe it’s not the best idea to write the story in the middle of everything else, but unlike H4H this story is actually simple and I have a clearer direction for it. I’m also not a composer so there won’t be any ost for this lmao. I guess it’s not that bad, I’ll just have to look for some fire royalty free music. That visual game jam started today. I genuinely don’t know if I can finish this by the end of the month but I’ll try my best. It’s the art and programming that will take the longest obviously. Writing the actual dialogue won’t take too long but I’m gonna need to edit and proofread my own work too. This game dev stuff is no joke. Ntm for my rivals yap. I’m looking forward to the new season.
08/30/2025 A grand total of 4 entries for the entire month of August chat I fell off. So I drew the designs for the two major characters of my new project. It’s Felicia and this detective guy that doesn’t have a name yet. Just putting this again, this is a new story I’m working on for a game/project. The story is set in a 70s-80s corporate New York office and it’s a murder mystery sorta. The basic premise is that there’s mass panic in the city after reports of several murders of various wealthy businessmen. Some of these reports are for the corporation Felicia works at, since she’s a secretary for one of the largest corporations in the city. It’s probably obvious by now, Felicia is the main character of the story. She’s ditzy and airheaded, basically the dumb blonde trope but her hair is brown lmao. She stands out from the others working around her, but in a way that’s beneficial to her. Since her corporation has been a target for the murders, the office she works at has undergone a number of investigations. The detective guy has been seen pretty frequently around the office at this time since he has been working on this case and leading the investigations. For the remainder of the story, Felicia has to continue work as usual while this is all happening, but she also decides to offer her help to the detective. It’s an odd pair, especially with the contrast between their characters. The detective didn’t really want to accept Felicia’s help, with his personality being more stoic and uptight, but with her position, she does seem to have a lot of useful information. Wow epic story 10/10. Like mentioned in my previous entry, my goal is to submit this game as an entry to the visual novel game jam but if I’m not able to, then I at least hope to finish it before the end of this year. I don’t usually talk about the character design process but I will now. For both of these designs, I wanted to make sure the fashion was accurate to the time period. However, I used Pinterest so I got a lot of office siren and tiktok trendy outfits I needed to filter out, but hopefully they read correctly idk. For Felicia, I basically just chose an outfit from an old photograph and went from there. I wanted her skirt to be like a mermaid-skirt because I like how that looked. Her hair was different in the first sketch, it was basically that fluffy 70s hair. But I was seeing a lot of videos of curly hair on fyp so I decided to change her hair to be curlier instead. It looked more interesting and I don’t usually give characters that type of hair style. Something about her design does feel a bit plain? But I’d rather that than to overdesign her, maybe I’ll tweak a few details later on. And for the detective that doesn’t have a name, idk maybe he can be called Freddy Fazbear or something, again I just looked for time period accurate outfits and tried to make it fit with his job. He does look very similar to Louis but if he were normal and actually had emotions. I promise I can draw different types of characters guys, but maybe giving him blond hair with a brown coat was not the best idea lmao. Part of his design and character is that he likes funky ties, just thought it was a cute trait. Maybe he also sometimes wears a hat. I intend for there to be other characters but I haven’t designed them yet, they’re also just not that important as these two to the story so… Holy yap but this is a blog so who gaf. Now about site stuff, I kinda want to re-do this blog page again. I still think it’s cute, but it’s getting way too long, that tiny scrollbar stresses me out lmao. I’ve seen other sites put their entries into smaller containers, so I might do that. And I might also add tabs to separate the entries into categories, like months or themes, so it doesn’t get too long. It would also be nice to add a zoom in feature for the drawings, cuz they tend to look kinda low-quality as they are now. I’ve also thought about making actual blog entries where I talk about a topic instead of just rambling about random stuff, I mean I would still be rambling but you know. For a while now I’ve been practicing mantis a lot in vs ai. But now that she’s considered ‘usable’ again, I’ve been using her in quickplay a lot more. I really do like playing invis and luna but mantis as a support is so fun, at least when you don’t have some negative dps on your team yelling in your ear that she’s a bad pick. I think the practicing was useful cuz I’ve been doing pretty well with her on qp. My accuracy with her has improved a lot since when I first picked her up. Still, I need more mantis buffs netease please. I do really wanna get lord on her, I’m currently at the second level (idk what it’s called lol). Ngl, I’ve never really thought about which Marvel characters are my fav (except for Bucky ofc) but now that I think of it mantis was one of my favs in the movies, she’s so funny actually. Well I guess I’m in my mantis era. Also the new game mode is pretty fun. I’ve seen a lot of people say they hate it but I think it’s aight.
08/27/2025 It's been a while again but I drew him again heh. This was for a tiktok I made for that one 'my oc rates your oc' trend. I made a couple silly expressions of him but I like this one, it's extra silly. Elite ball knowledge if you know the ref. I've been feeling art blocked again but in a weird way. I really want to draw but I have no inspiration for what to draw. Like yeah I could think of a drawing idea but if that idea doesn't keep my interest then I don't feel like continuing with the drawing anymore. Yeah bro idk but I wanna draw grrr No new site stuff going on atm. The new character profiles are still a work in process and will take me a while. I guess I really am coding-blocked. Idk maybe I'll work on a new shrine soon or make new character profile since filling those out is fun. Anyways, I’ve also been thinking about starting a new project. My main H4H project, which the my ocs and devlog page are centered about, has been on a hiatus. I’m still working on it but I guess I’ve been feeling blocked in terms of writing the story. So I want to work on a simpler and shorter story before I get to my main project. It’s ironic because H4H was meant to be very short but it just kept getting longer because of my delusions I guess. But like they said, don’t start with your passion projects first I think? I don’t know lol I need to get this story out before I die. But about my new project, these two aren’t the only two stories I have going on but I guess I’m not as insane about the rest. The thing is I bought RPG Maker about a year ago and I need to use it for something. Despite my personal opinions with the program, it’s not bad and you can make simple stuff work with it, which is why I wanna use it for this new story I’m making. I kinda want to make this game for a game jam, maybe even that one visual novel game jam (my ahh better get to working if I do join that cuz it’s coming soon). So this game is meant to be like those visual novel types of RPG Maker games that are all over itch.io. I’ll share more details about the story and characters soon, because I don’t want to shut up and will yap, but for now a very simple overview. It’s horror but it’s really not that scary, well maybe corporate culture and jobs is scary for some, and it’s also a comedy. For nearly every horror story I work on I always seem to include dark comedy in some way, this one too. Heh, I suppose my mind is just dark and twisted like that /this is satire. So yeah I’m kinda still working on the story and game details so I’ll yap more about that when that’s done, and I’ll show the characters soon too (but there’s only like 2 characters for this story anyways). Although my devlog page was meant for H4H stuff, I might use it for updates on this new project, or maybe I’ll keep updates in this blog page idk. I really talk a lot maybe I should become a png youtuber with a sona that crosses their arms idk So about that new c&d skin I was glazing, I didn't get it bc I find it kinda mid lol. But maybe my opinion will change. Not much to talk about here, I've just been playing as always. Although the new season trailer will be released next week I think, it's kinda crazy how fast the seasons are going with the new schedule. I already saw the leaks and bro.. can I have another strategist at least please. I just want another character to be able to choose from, specially since it's the role with the least characters. Anyways, having a duo to play doom match with seems really fun i wish i had friends
08/08/2025 Life be so sad and depressing and then omg Louis!! I haven't made an entry with an oc drawing since July 11 but I'll make more stuff with them soon. I mentioned in his character profile that he was inspired by Patrick Bateman so I made a drawing in reference to that. But for this drawing I tried grayscale. I don't do grayscale ever but since I was drawing directly from a reference picture I decided to try it. There has also been a couple tiktoks in my fyp that showed a process of coloring grayscale using gradient maps so I wanted to try that too. I enjoyed the process, it felt pretty relaxing. It was also very helpful for rendering the coat since it's meant to be transparent. I used a ton of gradiant maps for this lmao but I really like how it turned out. Although maybe I should have added more detail to his face so it matches with the rest of the rendering I've made a couple of drafts and moodboards for some ideas of the new character profiles. I've started working on a few but coding got hands. I really want to make sure that each profile matches with the character's personality and aesthetic so finishing a few might take me a moment. New rivals update wowie. I haven't played yet since I've been busy with stuff. I've seen some Blade gameplay and he looks cool, not really a character I think I'll play tho but that's fine cuz I won't have to fight the instalockers. My goat Luna goes untouched and gets a new teamup so that's fun. Sad to see that the atlas bond team-up is gone now. I didn't get to use it that often but when I did it was loved. The new hela skin looks very nice, my favorite skin of hers so far imo, but I don't play her enough for me to buy it. Unfortunately I'm unemployed so I can't buy everything, and I'd rather save for the new c&d skin.
